AT A GLANCE:

• Practice 100% interventional radiology with a team of professionals including physicians, nurses, technologists, and advanced practice providers
• Call group of between1 and 6
• Participate in the training of integrated and independent interventional radiology and diagnostic radiology residents and teaching of Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine's medical students
• Practice a full range of interventional procedures with wide mix of pathology
• Danville facility includes 3 angiography suites, 1 hybrid CT-fluoroscopy suite, 1 minor procedure room including ultrasound, additional dedicated CT for IR procedures
• Wilkes-Barre facility includes 2 angiography suites, 2 minor procedure rooms including ultrasound
• Department houses one of the largest 3D printing/3D imaging labs in the country with opportunities for translational research

Geisinger Medical Center (GMC), the largest tertiary/quaternary care teaching hospital in the region, is licensed for 475 beds, including 89 pediatric beds in the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital. GMC, a Magnet Hospital, maintains the region’s only Level 1 Regional Resource Trauma Center with additional qualifications in pediatrics. Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center (GWV) has been a part of the Geisinger family since opening as the NPW Medical Center in 1981.
